What we collect

Dublin Rent Roulette does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics scripts. The only personal data we collect is your email address if you choose to subscribe to the daily newsletter.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our daily email, your email address is shared with Buttondown, the third-party service that sends the newsletter on our behalf. We use your email solely to deliver the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, or by contacting us. Upon unsubscribing, your email address is removed from the mailing list.

Local storage

Your game progress, recent property history, and an anonymous player identifier are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device except when submitting game results, and is not accessible to any third party.

Game statistics & leaderboard

When you complete a game, a record is saved to our database containing: an anonymous player identifier, number of guesses, first guess amount, property ID, and whether you won. This identifier is a random string generated in your browser and is not linked to any personal information. It is used to display your position on the leaderboard and track streaks.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

• OpenStreetMap — map tiles for the property map feature.
• Buttondown — email delivery for the daily newsletter (only if you subscribe).

Each service's own privacy policy applies to those requests.

GDPR

For newsletter subscribers, the legal basis for processing your email address is consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing. Anonymous game statistics do not constitute personal data. If you have any questions or wish to exercise your data rights, contact us via the GitHub repository.
